Lace House, Brighton

Conversion of seafront office building to residential development of 8 apartments.

Conversion from office to residential using Permitted Development Rights

Haines Phillips Architects prepared detailed proposals for the conversion of an existing building in a prominent sea front location in Brighton from office to residential using Permitted Development Rights.

The proposals carved out eight attractive and well laid out apartments, some with balconies, from the existing office premises, with considerable enhancements to communal and circulation areas, substantial modifications to, upgrading and renewal of the internal fabric along with comprehensive repairs to the external fabric, to restore some of the former elegance to this prominent 1930’s building.

Our services included the full detailing of the internal shell and the fitting out of the apartments and a full architectural specification following the concept and feasibility design stages.
