Moore Street, Knightsbridge

Addition of third floor and extension to 19th Century Chelsea house.

Reconfiguring and improving the house

This typical mid-nineteenth century stucco-fronted Chelsea house has one unusual aspect to its setting, being directly on top of the District and Circle line tunnel, between Sloane Square and South Kensington stations.

Our replanning of the house provided generous living space on ground and lower ground floors, with a small sunny paved garden acting as another room in good weather.

Our design included the addition of a third floor and an extension at the back of the lower ground floor, which presented both architectural and engineering challenges.

The three upper floors include a particularly finely detailed master bathroom and separate dressing room.

Location

The development is located in the borough of Kensington & Chelsea, London.
